                                   Nosocomial Infection Control Center                                                              NICC                                                                                               

The Nosocomial Infection Control Center (NICC) is housed in the Research Institute of Medical Entomology. It was established in 1996 with three goals in mind:
  1. To establish a system of infection control and hospital hygiene at GOTHI
  2. To diminish the rate of nosocomial infection at the hospitals and institutes of GOTHI
  3. To diminish the costs related to nosocomial infection at GOTHI

The center currently operates in all GOTHI hospitals and institute and has a number of ongoing projects including:

  • Research on controlling the causes of nosocomial infection
  • Controlling the use of antibiotics
  • Survey on the prevalence and incidence of nosocomial infections
  • Research on the design and architecture of hospitals, operating rooms and central sterilization
  • Make statestics

The Center employs 1 pharmacist, 1 epidemiologist, 1 microbiologist, 1 anesthetist and 1 nurse.
